New Born Baby Cards

With all the birthday cheer of mine from last Saturday, I still managed to find time to create two Baby cards. Me niece had a baby girl last week, which is the first grandchild of me uncle. This had to be cheered greatly I thought. I made one card for Grandpa and Grandma and one for the parents.

I created these cards with left over papers from the Graphic 45 Little Darlings 8x8 paper pad. Last week I bought Graphic 45 papers from someone on facebook, she had a bunch of left over items, pads half used and a bunch of clippings. The Little Darlings was with it aswell. Much to me cheer ofcourse as it would be perfect for these cards :)

I'll show you the Grandparents one first. I used a pink gingham printed paper for the background, two left over pieces to create the borders. I've cutted the chipboard tag with a Sizzix Tag Die and glued same size paper on it to cover the chipboard. The image is also a clipping from the same set. I used a store brand beige/white gingham printed ribbon and Basic Grey button. Everything is inked with Versafine Smokey Grey ink.

Next card is the Parents one. This one has two sheets of the paper pad as a background, there was just enough to create this background. One sheet of each, YAY! I've handstitched this with DMC pink beige yarn and inked with Versafine Smokey Grey ink. The banner was made with left over strips of paper, Gorjuss beige buttons in Marianne Design baby flowers. The metal baby tag and corners are store brand and so are the flowers.

Birthday Cards

Today I want to show you two of the cards I made at an earlier time. We're in the birthday spirits here with mine coming up very soon. I want to show you two male cards.

The first one is one with a Magnolia Edwin Stamp. For this card I used varied Basic Grey Origins 6x6inch design papers. I really like this collection a lot due to the use of greens, yellows, blacks and browns. This combination with the prints used, work great. It makes great use for male cards. I also used Lifestyle Crafts dies ( previously named Quickutz) for the back ground. I hand stitched it with DMC brown yarn, used Magnolia fence and tag dies, Tim Holtz floral stamp, copics to colour Edwin. I choose not to ink this card and use the papers bare as I would explain it.

Next I want to show you a male Birthday Card that I made with Graphic 45 A Ladies Diary papers. This line is mainly female themed but there are a few images that are great to use for male cards and this one is one of them. I've used the Graphic 45 papers for the backgrounds and tags. The tag is a Sissix BIGZ die and the shaped background is a Lifestyle Crafts die. I used an Inkadinkado clear text stamp for the Birthday wishes, various metal embellishments and ribbons, the image is hand stitched with brown DMC yarn to make it pop a lil more. Everything is inked with Colorbox sepia Cateye ink.

Siblings

I also want to share this lay out with you. It is the first lay out that I made of me brother and I. We are rarely on a photo together as I am usually the one taking photo's of him. This photo of us was made by me mum.

To create this lay out, I've used the Graphic 45 Bird Song 12x12 paper sheets. It took me several days to get everything right, right how I wanted it to be. The black backing paper shows small images of chinese star signs, funnily enough, Graphic 45 added the Rooster and Dragon to this paper. Both are our star signs, me brother is a Rooster and I am a Dragon in Chinese Astrology. That made this paper simply perfect for this photo. The floral frame was from another Bird song paper which I've cut, painfully handstitched with DMC gold yarn. I've fussycutted the flowers, birds and postal stamps. I've used store brand 3D flower stickers, to add some depth into the lay out. The black frame is a Prima Marketing resin frame which I've painted black with acrylic paint and added some gold ink to make it look antique. The titel is from Making Memories Sabrina alphabet stickers. I'm particularly proud of this lay out cause it's me brother and me and both our chinese star signs are featured in the paper.

Happy Wishes

Today I have another wonderful card for you. This one is also made with the Graphic 45 Secret Garden 8x8 paperpad, chipboard elements and sticker elements.

I've used 2 different sheets of papers to create the background for this card which I then handstitched with pale green DMC yarn. I've added antique silver metal photo corners to finish it. I've added a border with the Secret Garden paper on which I used Marianne Design lace ribbon. On the banner I've added a chipboard element with a background paper from the paper pad. The title was made with the alphabet stickers. The little tag is a cutout from one of the papers which is handstitched with DMC silver yarn. All the papers are inked with Colorbox Cateye dune and sepia inks. The flowers and buds are store brand mulberry flowers.

I also want to mention that I found out today, that me cards have been used for publishing on the Harlekino webshop as Inspiration cards. After a nice phonecall, I was informed they were just as surprised and pleased to hear that these cards were made by a fellow Dutch scrapper. I feel very honoured and humbled that they find me cards very beautiful and publishing worthy. Thank you Marion and Jeroen for publishing them in your webshop.

First Card Of The Blog

With pride I present to you this first card of me blog. I've noticed I still have to work on this blog for a while so hang in there with me. Eventually I will get it right!

This card that I am gonna show to you, was made with a price pack that I had won at the Graphic 45 blog contest in January. It was the Secret Garden 8x8 paper pad, 2 sheets of cardstock stickers and 2 sheets of chipboard elements. I absolutely LOVE this collection from them and I already ordered more! It is so full with gorgeous Spring colours and designs. I've used 3 different sheets of paper to create the background which was handstitched with DMC lilac yarn. Added metal photo corners and a raised banner with beautiful white lace. The lil card on top of it, was handstitched with DMC gold yarn and attached with 3D foam to raise it up like the banner. The text element is from the chipboard set and the title is from the sticker set. To add the finishing touches, I've used store brand mulberry flowers. It is such a pleasure to work with Graphic 45 papers, so much detail in their designs.
